We live Responsibility

At Severin Safari Camp we practice the principals of ecological tourism. We have therefore developed a program to protect the fragile ecosystem of the park and contribute to eco friendliness. It is important for us to also teach our guests about the environment and natural protection during a “Back of the House” tour.

Fresh water is brought to Severin Safari Camp by using our own pipeline which comes directly from Mzima Springs. Hot water is made using solar energy and heat recovery of the power generators. Severin Safari Camp is the first camp to possess a waste water treatment plant which cleans the entire waste water from the tents and the kitchen.

The hotel also supports the association founded by our general manager, Mr. Severin Schulte, Skills for Kenya e.V. It helps young Kenyans in their country during their professional education and training in order to enable a better start in their working life and develop their knowledge and skills. Special attention is paid to socially weak and disadvantaged children and adoloscents whose environment and familiar situations don’t offer the financial means for education and training. In particular the children from the orphanage Mji Wa Salama in Mombasa, Kenya, shall be supported in order to make it easier for them to find jobs when old enough.
